Welcome to my online world – the world of PurpleApe.
Having tried various weblog solutions and community webpage profiles over the years, this slightly erratic journey through cyberspace brought me to the decision to create PurpleApe. The concept of writing about my life in a weblog, albeit anonymously and part of an established online community, started to feel excessively pretentious the more I thought about it. I also felt uncomfortable sharing so much of my life in a public medium, because however careful you are, information one does not want to share always starts to find its way out in time. For the curious visitor there is an ‘About Me’ page linked in the menu above. It does not tell you everything, although it does give more insight into who I am. This website is definitely less personal, and I hope the content appeals to a more general audience as a result. The pages are not hard to read, and I deliberately choose simple vocabulary to keep things less complicated. Subject matter is mostly of my own creation, while the rest is taken from the internet and other sources. Articles tend to cover subjects like films, books and television. They are here as much for visitors to read as an excuse for me to practice and hone my writing skills. If they have the added bonus of being interesting, they have served their purpose and more. The content is all safe to read, and if asked, I would self certify the pages as PG (for Parental Guidance). In the unlikely event that changes, there will be warnings, and links will be marked accordingly so that you can make an informed choice. I hope you enjoy your time here. |
